A Glimpse Into Our Past
I have put together a collection of images recording some of the things we got up to on this long old Chalk Paint™ journey.
In 2011 Annie Sloan and I visited New Orleans Louisiana for a series of workshops organized by my wonderful friend Mario Villa, a furniture designer and artist. It was a magic time, sharing ideas with a group of very creative people.
The Spanish restaurant above was a great project to work on. The leafy mural was created in collaboration with Adam Regester.
These were taken in Spain. they show my friend Laurence Dingley artist based in Warwickshire , and i pondering the wonderful mural he created in one of my client’s garden and two images of gentle Spanish moods created using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint™ as a wash on walls.
Madrid Fair 2012 with the Spanish distributor for Annie Sloan Interiors Paints and Products. The painted demonstration boards and wooden pallet made a perfect improv extra stand to attend customers! And check out our gorgeous floor area in Chalk Paint™ Barcelona Orange and Emperor’s Silk.. We were by far the most colourful and fun stand at the show by a long chalk.
Whilst establishing the distribution of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint™ in Spain we attended many Trade Fairs together. Annie and David would come over to promote the brand and and present workshops (always hugely popular) Meanwhile my team and I would establish links with soon to be stockists and the general public.
These two images were taken at the Feria De Manualidades in Madrid. An event we participated in for several years.
Here we have a shot of a workshop I put together for some IGCSE students in Granada Spain. They were studying the influence of Moorish culture on Spain and the legacy it left behind on Spanish art, architecture culture and even the language. Next to it our first decorative paint techniques workshop in A team photo of some of Annie’s Spanish stockists and I at an Annie Sloan Interiors Stockists Conference held in Brighton. Then finally, Madrid alongside Annie’s Spanish distributor.
2014 saw a wonderful year and included a fun evening when I was invited by the Teddington WI to participate in a fun activities and projects afternoon. We designed some great place mats that people were able to work on using various painting and decoupage techniques. Later in the year I assisted Annie Sloan in the presentation of her workshops at the Hampton Court Handmade Fair organized by Kirstie Allsop.
