Designed to Match Your Space
We are often asked to create a design that harmonised with our client’s colours and curtains!, as folk aren’t always looking for a complete revamp when updating their furniture. But sometimes, they are seeking a more creative style than just a straightforward coat of paint. These are the jobs we love to do!
This is two days in the life of a tired old linen box as it has new life breathed into it! Our client was after a close reflection of both colour and style of the curtain fabric for our work
So here you see the pretty curtain fabric and a quick sketch we used to show our client along with colours to be used. The linen box is a pretty ordinary looking affair and definitely needed our help!.
A Strawberry Daiquiri to help the colour flow and off we go with a couple of close ups of progress. The colours used were Annie Sloan Chalk Paint™ Aubusson, Svenska Blue, Chicago Grey, Honfleur and Old White fo the detail and Old White, Honfleur and Country Grey for the background.
And there you have it - a before and after to see just how it now fits in very happily. with its surroundings.
Another project we have been working on is a pair of somewhat plain bedside tables. Perfect for our magic brushwork! This time our client was happy for a more free interpretation of the original design to coordinate with a pair of hanging lampshades. The room’s colour scheme was a combination of neutrals and these the only “strong” colour.
This bedside table was a perfect white canvas for us to work on - literally! The colours we chose were Annie Sloan Chalk Paint™ Chicago Grey, Paloma, Old White, Antibes Green, Firle and French Linen for the detail and Old white and Country Grey for the background
A glimpse close up of the design for the top and door. Fun to be more whimsical about the painting and colours. We think it still reflects the feel of the lampshades though. Annie Sloan Chalk paint™ colour Firle from the Charleston collection really came into its own here for our flying parakeets! .
The before and after for the bedside table. I hope you agree that we have created a piece of furniture that will add a lighthearted note to its home.
Another match a curtain project! This time we used Annie Sloan Napoleonic Blue and Old White Chalk Paint™ Quite a bit of sanding back to echo the flex of colour in the curtain fabric. It was a fun project to design and carry out on what had been an old black frame. Oh, and that is Jane ( in her protective face mask of course) holding the mirror in the studio!
